What size battery does a clock use?

Most clocks use AA batteries. According to the "Guideline for Battery Application in Electronic Equipment," the standard dimensions of an AA battery are 14mm in diameter and 50mm in height. Its rated voltage is generally 1.5V, sufficient to provide a stable power supply for daily timekeeping.

Some small, delicate clocks use AAA batteries. Referring to relevant electronic equipment battery selection specifications, AAA batteries are approximately 10mm in diameter and 44mm in height, also with a voltage of 1.5V. Their small size makes them suitable for clocks with limited space. Some older wall clocks may use D batteries. According to battery industry standards, D batteries have a diameter of 34.2mm and a height of 61.5mm, and their large capacity allows them to provide power for older clocks for extended periods. Some clocks with special functions, such as those with voice chimes or complex circuitry, may use 9V batteries. From a professional perspective, the dimensions of a 9V battery are approximately 26.5mm in length, 17.5mm in width, and 48.5mm in height, which meets the higher power consumption requirements of these clocks. Some retro-style clocks sometimes use size 2 batteries. According to battery specifications, size 2 batteries have a diameter of 25.8mm and a height of 50mm, providing a stable power supply in certain clock designs.
